Team Quantum has been walking in the CF Great Strides Walk since 1989 when my son Danny was, four years old. Danny, born with Cystic Fibrosis has been fighting his courageous battle for 38 years. In spite of all his difficult medical issues, he is blessed with a happy and healthy three-year-old daughter, Shannon. She is one main reason he fights the pain and illness every day.
Danny has been through two successful double lung transplants and is living far beyond our original expectations. It is amazing that when he was born, the doctors held little hope for Danny to survive into his teens. We raised him to believe a full life was possible and he has accomplished so much and reached milestones that were thought to be not possible... graduated college, captained his ice hockey team, and became an amazing father!
Thank you to all of my Quantum teammates, friends, and family for always being there to support us every year since 1989. We would not have done this without you.
For too long, cystic fibrosis, a rare, genetic disease, has robbed people of tomorrows - progressively limiting their ability to breathe and tragically shortening life. There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with CF. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends, and co-workers who struggle every day in the face of this devasting disease.
We walk for Danny and all of the CF children and young adults. Will you join me and support my Great Strides fundraising goal?
Amazing progress has been made for those who have CF, but there is still no cure for this devastating disease and many lives are cut far too short.
By walking with me in Great Strides, you can help accelerate the Foundation's pursuit of new therapies and provide vital support to meet the needs of the CF community.
Please support us!
Your participation will help us get one step closer to ending this terrible disease. Let's make CF stand for Cure Found
