This would have been the first year Running with Danny is represented at Great Strides Washington DC – aimed at finding the cure for Cystic Fibrosis – a life-threatening genetic disease that affects the respiratory and digestive systems.
As most of you know, 2019 was an extremely tough and trying year. My brother Daniel and our mom relocated to North Carolina in the early spring as he was listed for a double lung transplant with UNC. He remained stable and gaining weight steadily until he developed pneumonia and was hospitalized in August. After a grueling 30 days in the ICU, Danny lost his battle to Cystic Fibrosis on September 25th. The pain of losing Daniel can't be put into words. Our family plans to continue the fight we started together to find an end to this horrific disease. We will continue to do this the same way Danny lived his life, FULL THROTTLE!
Although we can no longer gather May 30th on the National Mall to walk in honor of Daniel and to raise awareness for all those still fighting CF, the Foundation still needs our help.
Please share this with friends family and colleagues and help my family and I continue to raise funds so that other families fighting Cystic Fibrosis never have to feel the loss of their loved one like we have.
You can visit our website www.runningwithdanny.org to read more about Danny and his life as well as follow us on social media on the Running with Danny pages on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
Our family thanks you for the continued support and generosity you have shown us throughout the years.
