In people with CF, a defective gene causes a thick build-up of mucus in the lungs, pancreas, and other organs leading to infections, extensive lung damage, and eventually respiratory failure. People with CF say it's like breathing through a straw.
The CF Foundation is leading the way in the fight against cystic fibrosis. In the 10+ years that I've been with the CF Foundation there have been the most incredible advances; due in part to the Foundations highly specialized care model and collaborative approach to drug discovery, this orgnization has transformed a geneteic disease in a single generation. I am in awe of the dedication and drive of this incredible organization to leave no one behind - continuing research efforts for rare and nonsense mutations, treating infections and disease complications, improving transplant outcomes and advocate for access to affordable and adequate healthcare.
Please consider helping me reach my fundraising goal of $300 by donating to my Great Strides fundraising campaign. Your gift, which is 100% tax deductible, will help the Foundation advance our mission and make CF stand for Cure Found.
Thank you for your support again this year!
