Join us in the fight to cure cystic fibrosis!
2019 was a momentous year in the world of CF. In October, the Food and Drug Administration approved Trikafta. This is a breakthrough drug produced by Vertex, a company that received early and ongoing support from the CF Foundation to develop a therapy that addresses the basic defect in cystic fibrosis, not just the symptoms caused by CF. This is the first drug that, ultimately, can benefit about 90% of people who have CF.
None of this would have happened without the vision, investment, and long-standing financial commitment of the CF Foundation to Vertex and to companies like Vertex. And, none of that would have happened without the support over the years from people like you!
But, we are not done. Ten percent of people with CF have mutations that Trikafta will not help. Imagine how they are feeling at this time of great vulnerability. And, as good as Trikafta is, it is not a cure. We continue to strive for a complete cure for CF.
For those of you who are in a position to make a donation, we hope that you will consider doing so. No obligation, of course. We know that these are difficult times for so many and we continue to feel so supported by all of our friends and family in so many ways. Thank you for all the ways you are "there" for us. Please know that we're there for you, as well, in these trying times.
Let’s make CF stand for Cure Found!
