My Great Strides Story
When our daughter Sydney was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis... the Dr. said I took the news really well (it was becuase I had NO IDEA what it was... I had only heard the name). Nearly 40,000 people in the United States have cystic fibrosis: a progressive, genetic disease that affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. Sydney has worked really hard with her prescribed regimen to stay as healthy as possible. The CF Foundation has helped so much with the updated treatments and medication. With some of the new medications - Sydney has not been hospitalized in over 4 years!!!
Working alongside the CF community, the CF Foundation has fostered the development of more than a dozen CF treatments and helped add decades of life for people with CF. Yet, many people with CF do not benefit from existing therapies.
