Friends and Family,
As most of you know, Weston was born with cystic fibrosis, a genetic disease that effects his body in many ways. The main struggles being his lung function and digestive health. Every day Weston spends 2-3 hours doing breathing treatments and takes multiple medications in order to make sure he gets the nutrition he needs and to keep his digestive system working. Even with these things he still has many worries that most kids his age don't have to think about. He has spent a good chunk of his life in appointments and hospital admissions and knows that is something that could happen at any time.
We are so excited to be able to have the great strides event this year so Weston can see how many people are supporting him and all of the other people fighting cf. The donations from events like this have funded research that led to many treatments we have now. Weston is so close to being able to start a medication called trikafta. This medicine has changed so many lives in huge ways and we are so thankful for every person who has shown up, donated, or supported the work being done towards a cure for Wes and every person fighting this aweful disease.
The fights not over until we have a cure! Show your support bysigning up to attend Great Strides on May 21, 2023. There are options to attend in person or virtually, you can also contribute by making a donation to our team. Thank you in advance for all of your support and feel free to contact me with any questions!
