Palmer and Beckett’s Great Strides Story
Palmer and Beckett are siblings diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. Palmer was born with meconium ileus and underwent multiple GI surgeries as a newborn. Beckett was born without complications thanks to Trikafta, a fairly new drug that has been deemed a “miracle” in the CF community.
Both Palmer and Beckett are doing quite well thanks to the medicines and equipment available to them. These medicines include enzymes and multivitamins. Most recently, Palmer began taking Trikafta and Beckett continues to receive it through breast milk. They also both complete daily breathing treatments. There have been many advancements with regard to managing CF and for that we are thankful. At this current moment, Trikafta is the best drug on the market that targets the underlying issue of CF. However, it’s important to note that it can come with many side effects and it’s not available to 10% of the CF population because of their gene mutations. Therefore, it’s incredibly important we continue to fundraise, research, and fight for a cure.

We hope and pray that Palmer and Beckett will live healthy, long lives without the limitations of CF. And we thank all who join in this cause that is near and dear to our hearts. It means more than we could ever put into words.
