Alexa's All-stars

Dear Friends and Family, it’s time for our annual Great Strides Walk to Cure Cystic Fibrosis. We’re seeking donations large and small to help us achieve our fundraising goal again this year. 

As most of you know, our daughter Alexa has Cystic Fibrosis and has battling it since birth. Throughout the years she has endured hundreds of days in the hospital, endless antibiotics, treatments, and procedures. Through your donation and support of the CF Foundation, Alexa and many others are taking a new medication called Trikafta. It is a triple combination drug that corrects the miss-folding of the CFTR protein. Alexa has done amazing on the medication, reducing her number of hospitalizations to ZERO in the last 4.5 years. Yes, you heard that right. She hasn’t been hospitalized in 4.5 years. She says for the first time in her life, she feels like she has a future. Your support of the CF Foundation has helped fund these advances in research and have provided Alexa and so many others with a better quality and longer life.

With supporters like you by our side, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation continues to lead the way in the fight against CF, fueling extraordinary medical and scientific progress. When Dawn and I graduated high school in the 1980's, the average life expectancy age for someone with CF was only 14 years old. When Alexa was born in 1999, the life expectancy increased to an average age of 37 years old. Today, thanks to you and the CF Foundation, the average age is now up to 57 years old. It’s truly remarkable what the foundation has been able to do over the years to help fund these advancements in medicine that has given people with Cystic Fibrosis hope for their future. However, our fight continues until we can finally say CF stands for Cure Found.

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is supported by donations from individuals and corporations and does not receive any federal funding. Across the country, the Foundation has 70 chapters and offices that work diligently to raise funds and support the search for a cure. Join our team and help us get one step closer to a cure for cystic fibrosis – a rare, genetic, life-shortening disease that makes it difficult to breathe.

Great Strides is a fun event that provides a fantastic opportunity for family, friends, students, and colleagues to come together to make a difference in the lives of people with CF.
