“Marc’s Trotters” - This Team Walk will be on Devens not Worcester
Our grandson, Marc, was 10 days old when he was diagnosed with CF. We were unaware of the gravity of this diseases. We had heard of it but never knew anyone with it. After he was diagnosed we got involved to learn about this disease. The more we learned the more we realized how important the research is. We got involved in fundraising because of the cost of research.
We made our first walk in May 2015 in Chelmsford, when Marc was 2 years old. We are known as “Marc’s Trotters”.
This is our 7th year! One important part of the walk is that it gives us a chance to educate people - especially about the fact that CF is something a person cannot outgrow.
Marc turned 9 on March 7th, he has been relatively health and with the help of his team of specialist he has never been hospitalized. Marc still must spend 2-3 hours each day on his daily treatments. He must be careful in public to keep safe from bacteria and viruses that could make him sick. He also takes pancreatic enzymes with each meal to help him to digest his food, but he still often has stomach pains.
We are thankful for all the wonderful new medications that are available, but we need a cure for Marc and others living with CF (particularly those who cannot benefit from exisiting medications), and we will walk every year until they find one!!
We walk for all of those who have CF. Will you help us?
