My Great Strides Story
CF affects someone very close to me: my good friend Chris. Chris and I grew up neighbors. I started participating in the CF walk in 5th grade before we became friends and before I even understood the seriousness of his condition. Chris has always made it seem effortless. He is great at hiding the medicine, treatments, time, and money that are necessary due to his CF. He has always been athletic and unless you knew better, you would never guess that he had any condition.
Throughout the years we have remained close and I consider Chris family. I have seen him kick CF’s butt with the help of medication and treatment. Medical advances in just the past 15 years have been so impressive and I can’t wait to see how much further things go in the next 15.
I am extremely grateful for this community and the CFF/ Great Strides walk. Despite the challenges of CF and the complication of a global pandemic the past few years, Chris has never slowed down or let it get the best of him. He and many others with CF are thriving thanks to foundations like this.
Please consider donating to a great cause - any amount helps. Let’s find a cure.
Thank you!
What is cystic fibrosis:
Cystic fibrosis affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. The symptoms can vary from person to person, and as people with CF live longer than ever before, their disease can become more complicated, leading to serious health issues.
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has made extraordinary progress — including fostering the development of more than a dozen CF treatments — but these treatments are not a cure and not everyone can benefit from them. We must keep going.
Your support makes a difference.
By donating to my fundraising goal, you will help advance our mission for a cure for all. Please consider joining us and helping make CF stand for Cure Found.
