My Great Strides Story
There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis. By participating in Great Strides, I am helping to end this disease for thousands of people impacted by CF.
Cystic fibrosis affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. The symptoms can vary from person to person, and as people with CF live longer than ever before, their disease can become more complicated, leading to serious health issues.
Gyanna Lee was diagnosed at 10 days old with this disease. She was taking meds by the spoonful soon after. Gyanna had inhalers, machines, hospital stays, and many meds around the clock. She has had mrsa, pseudomonas, and other bacteria infections in her lungs, as well as her pancreas not working properly. 2022 we found out Gyannas lungs were at her lowest, pfts 73%.
By the grace of god, the Cf community and all of your donations, Gyanna started a little over a year ago on a new medication. This medication has not only allow her to be less tied to a plug, but has increased her lung function to a 102%. This is not a cure, but he been a great improvement.
Gyanna still takes med around the clock, still has to take inhalers and med treatments. She still needs to be plugged into her vest for an hour a day. But despite all that she is an amazing, happy, kind little girl.
She loves with all her and is asking for everyone’s help to make CF no longer stand for Cystic Fibrosis, But for Cure Found!
Your support makes a difference.
