Dear Friends & Family,
It is that time of year again, where Bob’s Buddies is preparing for its 18th Great Strides Walk in support of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Bob’s Buddies has raised over $175,0000 to support Cystic Fibrosis research thanks to your generous support.
Bob is now 17 and in his senior year of high school. In the fall he is heading off to Rochester Institute of Technology to major in Mechanical Engineering Technology.
Since starting Trikafta 4 years ago, Bob has stayed out of the hospital and has only required an occasional course of oral antibiotics. He no longer requires daily chest PT and nebulizer treatments. He now only needs those treatments when he has an exacerbation brought on by illness. That is 2 hours of quality time he has gained back in his life each day.
Bob uses that new found quality time for a variety of things. He is playing both varsity golf and varsity baseball this year. He was a starting pitcher for the Wareham Senior Legion Team.
Bob has stayed on a modified dose of Trikafta taking 2/3 the normal dose to keep the side effects at bay. His liver enzymes have come down and the other side effects have eased and it still appears to be a therapeutic level for him.
We continue to support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to fund research to find the next generation of treatments that will hopefully have less significant side effects.
Love,
Bob’s Buddies
