Dear family and friends,
It is time again for us to ask for your help in funding research to find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis.
As you all know, we do fund raising every year at this time in support of the CFF Great Strides Walk. The walk is scheduled on December 4th this year.
Jennifer is 19 now, and a beautiful and accomplished young woman. Her courage and determination are truly amazing. She pushes herself to achieve excellence in whatever she does. She graduated from high school last year, Summa cum Laude with a straight A average. She now is attending college at Texas Christian University. Because of Covid-19, her first semester was remote online from Scottsdale. She made straight A’s and the Dean’s list. After receiving both doses of the vaccine, Jen moved to Texas. She lives on campus in a dorm. She has her own private room and is able to continue all of her medical routines and treatments. It is a scary time for all of us, but it is wonderful to see her independence and drive. She is studying a Pre-Physician Assistant curriculum. This is her goal. Very difficult and intense, much like pre-med. She is working hard and doing well!!
Her love is being outdoors, and she is missing the hunting and fishing outings with her family. However, she will return to AZ for the summer, and will be able to enjoy the outdoor life again
.Jennifer was very blessed in late 2018 to become a participant in a drug trial of a new CF medication, which has produced miraculous results. Jen’s lung function value was 50% before the medication. It has now improved to about 80%!! Her appetite has improved, and for the first time since she was a baby, she is not depending on tube feedings to maintain her weight!! The drug will not cure CF, but it will help mitigate the damage caused to CF patients by reducing inflammation and helping them breathe. The drug was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Oct. 21, 2019!! It was a huge day of celebration in the Cystic Fibrosis community!!
It is because of donations from people like you that this drug research is possible. Thank you so much for supporting Jennifer’s cause through the years!! You are helping Jen and many others have more tomorrows.
Please help us raise funds to continue the research. We hope and pray that someday CF will stand for “Cure Found”!!
You can donate on this secure website.
Donations are tax deductible.
