Travis' Great Strides Story
Travis was born with Cystic Fibrosis. There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis. By participating in and being this year's Great Strides ambassador, he is helping to end this disease for thousands of people impacted by CF.
Cystic fibrosis affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. The symptoms can vary from person to person, and as people with CF live longer than ever before, their disease can become more complicated, leading to serious health issues. Right now, Travis doesn't yet realize he's different. It's normal for him to take medicine with every meal, to do treatment multiple times everyday. His body works so hard to maintain normal. We work every single day to make sure he has more tomorrows.
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has made extraordinary progress — including fostering the development of more than a dozen CF treatments — but these treatments are not a cure and not everyone can benefit from them. One of these new medications, called Trikafta, has been a game changer for Travis' health. Fundraising from the CFF helped make this amazing medicine a reality for families like us. We were shocked to learn that there is NO government funding for CF so the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is THE reason Travis has had access to the amazing medicines, doctors and treatments he has already had in his short life.
He does treatments and takes medications everyday. But there is still no cure.
We must keep going. For Travis.
Your support makes a difference.
