My Great Strides Story
Cystic fibrosis affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. The symptoms can vary from person to person, and as people with CF live longer than ever before, their disease can become more complicated, leading to serious health issues.
Your support makes a difference.
Laken was born July 2023 and shortly after birth went to the NICU. She was there for 4 days and released on a Monday afternoon. Her parents were so excited to be out of the hospital and begin their new life. On Friday they went to the pediatricians office for a weight check and received the news that there was a chance their baby girl had cystic fibrosis. They were in utter shock considering they didn't even know what CF was. Laken has proven to be so strong and such an inspiration to all those who meet her. She is the happiest baby. She loves everyone she meets, but thinks her dogs are the funniest. We know that a cure is so close and we will never stop fighting until cystic fibrosis is cured. With your help, we can get even closer!!
Amelia was born in 2001 and diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis in 2003. Navigating a childhood with Cystic Fibrosis was anything but easy. Great friend’s, family, and a wonderful CF team helped make it possible for her to reach adulthood despite the odds. She is a proud graduate of Indiana University, and made herself a career in the political field which she is so passionate about. Ever since her Make a Wish trip, she has an absolute love for all things Disney! She is also a proud US Masters Swimmer. Trying to balance CF and Adulthood has been quite the task, but there’s so much hope. With your help, you can help Amelia and Laken live to see CF stand for Cure Found!
