My Great Strides Story
This team of walkers is for the fight of the disease Cystic Fibrosis. CF is an inherited life-threatening disease that damages the lungs and digestive system. It's a rare disease with fewer than 200,000 cases per year and has no cure.
My younger brother, Jack (age 18) and younger sister, Maggie (age 12), both were born with Cystic Fibrosis. They're battles are going strong but with CF having no cure, the clock ticks for them. My goal is to raise awareness, money, support, and so much love to show Jack and Maggie that they are not in this alone.
CF can impact patients differently, Jack has multiple related underlying conditions, such as Liver Failure, Chronic Liver Disease, Type One Diabetes, and Shortened bowl syndrome. This has impacted his life greatly trying to fight the 'Battle of the Five Armies' (The Hobbit reference). Early March of 2023 he suffered a grand mal seizure due to low blood sugar, and since then has been trying to find a way to balance these conditions to the best of his, and his family's ability.
Maggie on the other hand, does not have the same underlying conditions. Her disease was anticipated before she was born, and this helped prepare her team of doctors and surgeons to give her the best chance at a normal life.
These 2 kids and the rest of the world of patients who have CF deserve the best fighting chance. Help me make that happen by joining the walk or donating today.
Thank you, and I'm forever thankful for your support.
Your support makes a difference.
By donating to my fundraising goal, you will help advance our mission for a cure for all. Please consider joining us and helping make CF stand for Cure Found.
