Team Victoria

Greetings family and friends!

The 2024 Great Strides Walk to find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is Sunday, May 19, 2024, 9:00am (walk starts at 10a!) at the Holtsville Zoo and Ecology Center!

This will be Team Victoria's 16th year participating in Great Strides.

Victoria had a great year maintaining her health and positive attitude, enjoying time with family, friends, and school activities. In December 2019, Victoria started taking Trikafta - and the results have been amazing. She gained weight, no longer coughs unless she has a cold, and feels good overall. And is able to run track!  

While Victoria is also challenged with CFRD (Cystic Fibrosis Related Diabetes) for a few years now - she rises to meet this challenge, and works hard to maintain her blood sugars (while enjoying life) - going from a 13.9 A1c in 2019 to her current 5.8 A1c in 2024.

These new drug therapies, research, and treatments in development are truly remarkable, and all of this progress is happening due to your generous donations and support. So thank you!! But there are still members of the CF community who are not able to take modulators like Trikafta, so we need to make sure they are not left behind - and - we need to help the entire community with maintain their health and wellbeing - including gene therapies, developing non-resistant antibiotics and much more - as we continue our mission to make CF stand for "Cure Found."
