My Great Strides Story
Nearly 40,000 people in the United States have cystic fibrosis: a progressive, genetic disease that affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, and friends who face the sobering prospect of a shortened lifespan. I walk for them. This month is particularly significant in the Southampton Montessori community in that one of our teachers, Ms. Southard, suffers from this disease. As such, we are asking that you and others you may know consider donating to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is a non-profit organization and the world’s leader in the fight against CF. The foundation funds and accredits more than 115 CF care centers and 95 adult care programs while also funding research and drug development to help find new treatment and hopefully, eventually, a cure. On May 21st, 2023, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation will be hosting their annual “Great Strides Walk-A-Thon" in Holtsville, NY. We will be setting up a team on behalf of Ms. Southard in which you can donate to and register to “walk” virtually on the day of the event. All proceeds will go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. We want to thank you so much for your unwavering love and support.
