There are hard and trying times for all of us. As you probably have wondered, the CF walk date has come and gone. May 31st was the date of our Great Strides walk. Steve and I miss participating, meeting with other CF families, reconnecting with people that we see from year to year. It is difficult to ask for contributions at this time when so many people are in such dire need. The efforts of the CF Foundation are never-ending and, unfortunately, as with other causes, funding is always vital to continue the great work that has been done.
I do want to share with you some good news. Melissa had been in a study for some time and just recently, as much as 9 weeks ago, she started taking a groundbreaking new CFTR modulator, Trikafta. In the time she is spending with us here, during our quarantine, we have noticed that she has seen benefits from this drug. She feels that her lungs can fill up in a way that she can't remember for some time. She has more energy and is able to exercise and take long walks without effort. This has been a tremendous breakthrough in her day to day life dealing with CF. We want to thank you for your past support and are hoping that, if possible, you will continue to support us in our endeavor to not rest until a cure is found.
