Hi, family & friends!
For the 22nd straight year, I'll be participating in GREAT STRIDES, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's fundraising event to cure cystic fibrosis (CF).
It's the first year the Foundation is hosting the walk in person since 2019, which brings an added layer of excitement again to fundraising. There's a personal layer of excitement, too — It'll be my first walk since I had my double-lung transplant at the end of 2019. Who would've thought I'd ever be excited about cardio, but here we are. (Jokes aside, having a new lease on life is a pretty incredible feeling).
CF doesn't affect my respiratory system the same way since the transplant, but I'm still plagued by the effects CF has on the digestive and sinus systems. So, for those keeping score, cystic fibrosis is still very much part of my everyday life, and I'd very much like to see a cure in my lifetime.
You can feel good that your donation will be well spent: More than 90 cents of every dollar raised by the CF Foundation is used to support its vital programs. Yay, research!
For those of you new to the cause & those who've been with me since day one, I hope you can support my efforts. My family & I offer our heartfelt thanks.
Alissa
