Friends and Family,
Many of you know, but for those that are newer in our lives, our son Colin has cystic fibrosis. CF is a genetic disease that affects digestive and lung function. It’s a life threatening disease with a median lifespan of only 38 years old. There is no cure available.
Ever since two months after Colin was born, we have raised funds through events and walks to help find a cure. This year, we will be taking part in the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Great Strides Walk. We would love you to join us on Saturday, May 18th at the Naperville Riverwalk. Registration begins at 8am and the walk starts at 10:00am.
Colin had complications at birth due to the disease and a few challenges through his first 16 years, but this winter he experienced his first decline in lung function followed not long after by his second decline. We’ve worked with his doctors to make changes in his medical regime and have been fortunate enough to halt the drops. While there are many possible causes for why this may have occurred, the reality is that it is the progression of this disease. These are very real reminders that while Colin looks great he is still always fighting the effects of cf.
We’ve been overwhelmed with your generosity throughout his life and we can never thank you properly for that. We hope that you will continue to help, as Colin and thousands of others with cf still need you. Please join us on Saturday, May 18th at the Naperville Riverwalk or help thousands still without a cure by donating online.
