Let's just start by stating the obvious...It's been AHELLOFAYEAR!! Physically and emotionally the challenge was real!
We are all still navigating uncharted waters but with vaccines we believe we're getting our head above the water!
It is a tough year to ask for donations. Yet with all of our fundraising your donated money has clearly been an amazing contribution to the CF community!
As we've told you all before the better part of the money really goes to the research. Research that has proven to help people live longer healthier lives. On the bus many many years ago Jack & I relayed the story to you that they were researching something called Trikafta but that it was really only good for the common CF gene, Delta F508(Brittany) and our son John has the uncommon gene 1717 IG A. When I called David at the CF center he told me to just hang on that a few years down the road they'll get to the other strands.
And here we are!!!
John and Brittany are applying to see if Ellie and Judah can both try the drug. It's difficult for us to write all of this without crying...out of pure joy. If not this year, soon! So as you can imagine it's most important that we continue to ask for donations big or small, it all matters.
We the whole Spellbound crew are making a difference to people we've never met and to our own dear grandchildren.
Which really has been the plan all along!!
So with LOVE and GRATITUDE we thank you.
This year the CF foundation created a virtual walk on Saturday May 15th. So there is no need for us to rent a bus and hike downtown as we're going to do it at our own backyard and neighborhood.
Please join us at 1505 Wilmette Avenue Wilmette IL 60091 to celebrate and to dance the day away! Just show your vaccine cards at the door for admittance! LOL
We will meet at our house on Saturday May 15th at 9:30 for the BEST BLOODY Mary's! Of course, we will have coffee and treats. Then we will set out to walk the neighborhood, in our Spellbound tee shirts.
Afterwords we will head back to our house for food and festivities to celebrate our achievements!
Thank You all for your loving support and your generous donations.
*We are grateful to you all!
With Much Love,
We are- Spellbound for a Cure
