Greetings and thank you for your continued support to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation! This year marks our 20th year of fundraising for the foundation (with a gap year in 2020). We've been blessed by your participation in so many ways, it's difficult to put into words exactly how much your steadfast kindness has meant to our family, and the entire Cystic Fibrosis community, throughout the years.
In 2019 a CFTR modulator became available to 90% of the CF population that corrected the genetic defect in people with Cystic Fibrosis! For those that do not know, Joe was one of the fortunate, historic, trial participants that helped this drug come to fruition.
You might be wondering: why are we continuing to fundraise if Joe is taking a pill that corrects Cystic Fibrosis? The answer is, 10% of the people with CF do NOT have a CFTR modulator that works for them; that equates to about 7,000 people that still need our help.
Not only that, but we have found that the annual CF GREAT STRIDES walk is something friends and family put on their calendars and look forward to each year. It is a chance to see each other, share a lunch and get some exercise.
PLEASE NOTE: The walk will be at Independence Grove this year: 16400 W. Buckley RD. Libertyville, IL. on June 1st!! Registration begins at 10 a.m.
Thank you for making this your charity! We know there are many to choose from so please know we value your partnership in this.
With much love and gratitude,
Stacy, Mike, Joe and Josh
