Eight years ago, our first son was born and diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. Three years later, our second son was born and diagnosed with the same life-shortening disease. Now, Hans is in third grade and he loves chess, Lego, and Fortnite - and Jackson is thriving in kindergarten and loves baseball! But every day, both boys have to take dozens of pills, do multiple breathing treatments, and do chest physiotherapy to help keep them healthy. We walk for our two brave boys and for the immense hope we have for their future. We walk for a cure. There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis. Real progress has been made in the search for a cure, including the recently approved medication Trikafta, but the lives of people with CF are still cut far too short.
