We would like to start by saying thank you in advance to the VIOC SCM's for their efforts to make the donations for this great cause possible. It is through their focus and dedication that so many of our customers make donations to help each year. Pictured on our team page are the team members, their families & friends that were able to participate in Great Strides 2019. Thank you team, it is a privilege to walk beside you.
Valvoline Instant Oil Change is proud to partner with the Cincinnati Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF). This will be our seventh year participating in the Great Strides walk and to date we have raised more than $88,000 in donations over the last six years. 2019 was another solid year for us, as we raised $30,667.
We will again be doing our annual pin up donation drive this fall at your local VIOC stores. I know our leadership team will once again be focused on driving huge results for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. So please come in, get an oil change with great service and a smile, then donate to a worthwhile cause! We will also be doing a personal donation drive amongst the leadership team ahead of this year's Great Strides walk and our goal will be $5,500.
Our reason for choosing CFF seven years ago was simple. Cystic Fibrosis does not draw as much national support the way many other causes do, but finding a cure for CF is just as important. Everyone loves an underdog and we are determined to help find a cure in any way we can.
We look forward to seeing all of our friends & family at this year's walk and thank you all for your support!
Foundation-Sponsored Indoor and Outdoor Events and Gatherings
The Foundation is closely following the evolving coronavirus outbreak. We will continue to monitor coronavirus guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and assess whether we need to change any scheduled events.
To reduce the risk of getting and spreading germs at CF Foundation-sponsored events, we ask that everyone follow basic best practices by regularly cleaning your hands with soap and water or with an alcohol-based hand gel, covering your cough or sneeze with a tissue or your inner elbow, and maintaining a safe 6-foot distance from anyone with a cold or infection. Medical evidence shows that germs may spread among people with CF through direct and indirect contact, as well as through droplets that travel short distances when a person coughs or sneezes. These germs can lead to worsening symptoms and speed decline in lung function.
To further help reduce the risk of cross-infection, the Foundation's attendance policy recommends inviting only one person with CF to attend the indoor portion of a Foundation-sponsored event at a specific time. For the outdoor portion, the Foundation recommends that all people with CF maintain a safe 6-foot distance from each other at all times.
