I want to tell you a little about my grandchildren, Annie and Philip Waymeyer. They are 21 and 19. Both are in college and doing well.
As many of you know they have cystic fibrosis. Twice everyday they must make time for treatments that fight off infection and help clear their lungs.
Annie and Philip have a rare mutation called a nonsense gene. They were recently approved for the new cf modulator Trikafta. After just a short time on this new drug they each have noticed a measurable improvement in their symptoms.
This disease has no cure but there are many treatments available that address the symptoms. These symptoms are wide ranging affecting not only the lungs but nearly every organ in the body.
One way you can help promote and fund this promising research is by joining us at the Great Strides walk at Sawyer Point on Saturday, May 116, 2020. This is the CF Foundation's largest and most successful fundraising event.
The CF foundation does not receive any federal funding. That is why your support is vital. My goal is $1000.
Thank you for your support,
