My Uncle Jay, my mother’s youngest sibling, had Cystic Fibrosis. A rare genetic disease affecting the lungs & digestive system, which makes it difficult to breathe & causes digestive problems. He lost his battle with the disease in 2002 at the age of 29. Today being my 28th birthday, it really puts into perspective how little time he had on this earth & how little time we had with him. Although I was young, I have many great memories of my uncle & we often wonder what it would’ve been like to share more of our lives with him.
I have the honor & privilege of serving on the leadership team for Insure the Cure. The Atlanta insurance community is celebrating the 10th anniversary of Insure the Cure to support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Over the last decade, the insurance community has raised over $2.2 million and made an astounding impact in CF research and care. Every dollar raised is helping transform the story of CF, but we are not done yet. The insurance industry continues to band together to find a CURE for this life threatening, genetic disease.
Starting April 19th you have a chance to double your donation. A donor is offering a $20,000 match opportunity for Insure the Cure. All donations $100+ to Insure the Cure will be matched dollar for dollar April 19th -30th or whenever the match is met. Take advantage of this opportunity to double your impact!
