Dear Family and friends,
Our daughter and son-in-law living with CF.
Our grandson, Caleb, was ten on January 20, 2020. He is living with life threatening Cystic Fibrosis and this year we celebrate a decade of GREAT STRIDES Walks to fundraise for him and all those with this horrible disease. We are very excited about a new three in one drug, Trikafta, that is having a tremendous positive effect on the CF community. It will be available to Caleb when he is twelve.
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a devastating genetic disease that makes the surface of Caleb's lungs sticky like oatmeal. The average life expectancy is approximately 42 yrs now but there are still pediatric deaths each year. Like any boy his age, Caleb loves riding his bike, running, hiking and all things Pokemon. CF affects more than thirty thousand children and young adults in the United States (seventy thousand around the world). It has no funding from the federal government so it is known as an "orphan disease". Your help is needed now more than ever to ensure that a cure is found sooner - rather than later.
I'm walking for Caleb in the Atlanta GREAT STRIDES Walk at beautiful Suwanee Town Center, Suwanee, Ga on May 16, 2020. I would love for you to come and walk with us. Please help me meet my fundraising goal of $2000.00. Your generous gift will be used efficiently and effectively, as nearly 90 cents of every dollar raised is invested in vital innovative research, drug development, advanced care and education.
Making a donation is easy and secure! Go to my Great Strides Home Page, http://fightcf.cff.org/goto/Suelepper2020. Click the "Donate" button on this page to make a donation that will be credited to Caleb's Crew. Any amount you can donate is greatly appreciated! NO donation is too small.
Together, we can make a difference in Caleb's life and the lives of all those with CF! THANK YOU for supporting the mission of the CF Foundation, Great Strides AND CALEB!
with a grateful heart,
Sue (Caleb's Grandma)
