The past few months have been quite the whirlwind. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in October then found out I have a BRCA2 gene mutation which means a very high risk of cancer returning so I had a double mastectomy on January 5th this year. I'm on the mend from that and will have more preventive surgeries in the near future.
In the meantime, I am excited to return my focus to Cystic Fibrosis awareness! I am feeling great since starting Trikafta in February 2020 and I want others in the CF community to experience this too! We need funds to get the research accomplished to get these modulators to everyone with CF. There are so many different gene mutations to reach.
As a 46 year old CF survivor, this fundraiser is certainly near and dear to my heart! But, there are approximately 30,000 Americans living with Cystic Fibrosis. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends and co-workers who struggle every day just to breathe.
CF not only affects the lungs, but the pancreas, making it difficult to digest food and absorb nutrients and many, including myself, have diabetes as well.
Help me reach my fundraising goal by donating to my Great Strides campaign. Your gift will help add tomorrows to the lives of people with Cystic Fibrosis by supporting life-saving research and medical progress. We are so close to finding a cure!
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation prides itself on applying 90 cents of every dollar raised to fund research for a cure and your gift is 100-percent tax deductible.
Thank you for supporting the mission of the CF Foundation and Great Strides!
Love,
Jess
