18 years ago I drove down to the first CFF Atlanta Great Strides anyone in my family (or I even know) attended. Elizabeth and I were still learning how to be sure we could help Hayden outlive the 31 y/o expected/median life expectancy. That was the last time Hayden hasn't attended the Atlanta Walk.
Since then we have helped the CFF raise hundreds of thousands of dollars, hosted hundreds if not thousands of Hayden's friends, families, teammates, classmates, coaches, etc.
Tomorrow Hayden will miss the Atlanta walk as he has a job where he had to fly out yesterday to DC where he'll be working for almost 2 weeks on a project.
I hate he won't be there, but this is why we have done this walk for 18 years! He isn't just hoping to get to the "new" life expectancy of 61 but getting to experience all he can (including the joys of business travel!)
Thanks to everyone who has walked, helped, and donated. We aren't done yet though so Elizabeth, Colin, Sawyer, and I will be there tomorrow at Suwanee Station with our walking shoes. Join us, donate, or just say "hi".
Thank you all.
