When Hayden was born in 2002 we were told his life “expectancy” was 31, and at that point the CFF had about $30m in assets. His life expectancy as of today is 43 and the CFF has $4b in assets.
If my math is right, for him to live to 80 – I am going to need another $50 BILLION (Elizabeth says math is what I am best at, so please do not question my numbers or logic.)
OK…I’m kidding. Kind of. That said, nothing has helped Hayden like the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has.
Most reading this already know Hayden is on a drug called Symdeko, with an even better one on the way next year. All of which is 100% because of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation - not the US government, not Obama/Trump, not the Canadian/UK/Australian Health Care Systems…the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation created it and is 100% responsible for helping him succeed.
The end goal for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is to find a CURE for everyone with Cystic Fibrosis. There currently is not even a PATH to a CURE, so we must keep UP.
Please do not let my “proud dad posts/comments” trick you in to thinking Hayden is doing “just fine” - as he isn’t, he needs a CURE. Hayden does over an hour of daily treatments, takes 20+ pills, keeps his weight up (he is the ONLY teen boy I know who doesn’t want to eat, ugh), take an online High School class, and deal with having me as a dad just to “get through the day”. Frankly, that’s only when things are going “good”.
Hayden needs your (continued) help, so please donate to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation as you can to allow Hayden to prove my numbers above wrong (Elizabeth will help you with a party to highlight as much).
Whether it’s $1 or $50 billion ($50 billion is better though), please donate now to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation on Hayden’s behalf.
