Welcome to my page Our brave grand-girl, Isabel, lives with this chronic and life-long disease. She has had an eventful year with fighting an aggressive lung bacteria, bronchoscopy, hospitalization for a G-tube placed for nutritional support and starting a gene modulator drug, Trikafeta, which was recently approved for ages 2 and over, and provides a hopeful future for patients that have the same mutation as Isabel. Isabel's, 21 year old maternal aunt, Emily, also has CF. Her disease had become so advanced that over the past year, she has became a recipient of a life-saving, double lung transplant, although she is doing well, her medical regimen needs daily monitoring, as she is always at risk for rejection and this disease has impacted the health of her pancreas.
