My Great Strides Story
Hello, my name is Drew Basse and I was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis when I was almost 6 years old and since then dealing with CF has just been the normal daily routine for me for almost 20 years.
I was and still am grateful that I had the opportunity to play sports, such as football, baseball, and basketball, growing up but I always had to "go the extra mile" to ensure that my body and lungs were in the best shape possible in order to compete with the other kids.
Cystic fibrosis is a progressive, genetic disease that affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs.
I have recently taken up the challenge and opportunity to compete in an IRONMan 70.3 in Memphis, TN on October 7th, 2023. My motivation for doing an IRONMan is showing others that are living with CF, it doesn't have to be looked at as a disadvantage and doesn't have to hold you back from accomplishing hard things. Instead, cystic fibrosis allows us to show the world what we are capable of with an extremely hard work ethic and dedication!
I want raise funds to give back to the organization that helped me through my life and continues to help many other fighting the same disease!
While I Breathe, I Conquer!!
If you can support and motivate me to finish this IRONMan 70.3 with a donation I would be extremely grateful! Thanks, Drew!
By supporting my fundraising goal, you have an opportunity in your lifetime to be part of ending this disease. Please consider joining us and help make medical history.
