My Great Strides Story
Same team, new location!!!
This is CHASEing A Cure's 20th year participating in Great Strides. Chase is a freshman at Mizzou this year (one of his goals since he was little was to be a Tiger!) so we thought it would be fun to do the walk in Columbia this year.
Chase continues to do well since starting Trikafta in 2019. He has not had a hospitalization in 6 years, his PFTS are at 113 (before Trikafta his normal was low 90s), and he has actually been able to cut down on the treatments and medicines he takes. "Cut down" are the key words though--he still takes many pills a day and does his airway clearance in some form twice a day. We are getting close to a cure but we won't stop UNTIL IT'S DONE!
There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis. By participating in Great Strides, I am helping to end this disease for thousands of people impacted by CF.
Cystic fibrosis affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. The symptoms can vary from person to person, and as people with CF live longer than ever before, their disease can become more complicated, leading to serious health issues.
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has made extraordinary progress — including fostering the development of more than a dozen CF treatments — but these treatments are not a cure and not everyone can benefit from them. We must keep going.
Your support makes a difference.
By donating to my fundraising goal, you will help advance our mission for a cure for all. Please consider joining us and helping make CF stand for Cure Found.
