My Great Strides Story

We are walking to support our friends and their grandson Henry and his Family. After his birth in June of 2022, Henry was hospitalized for 11 weeks before coming home to his 3 older siblings and parents. During his first year of life, he was hospitalized 16 times. Of those 16 times, 3 required extensive GI surgeries and was accompanied by some life threatening complications. As new treatments become available, Henry has continued to thrive despite the ups and downs he’s had to endure at the ripe old age of 2.

Cystic fibrosis affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. The symptoms can vary from person to person, and as people with CF live longer than ever before, their disease can become more complicated, leading to serious health issues.  

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has made extraordinary progress — including fostering the development of more than a dozen CF treatments — but these treatments are not a cure and not everyone can benefit from them. We must keep going.
