I am excited that you came to my page and want to support this cause. I grew up with Cystic Fibrosis, which limited me in many aspects, but caused me to grow in others. Every single day, I had to be home every 12 hours to do my breathing treatments, which took about an hour each time. This limited me, especially once I could drive, but also taught me the proper way to manage my time. I also took over a dozen medications at specified times throughout the day, which further encouraged my organized nature.
Unfortunately, even with my strict compliance to my regimen, my lung function went downhill around the age of 18. I was listed for a lung transplant when I was 19, which I finally received when I was 21 years old. This is great news for me, as I'm able to breathe, run, free-dive, rock climb, and many other things that I could have only dreamt of when I was on oxygen full time.
The transplant was a huge blessing for me and my family. It gave me a second chance to live and I am grateful every single day. The truth is, I'm one of the lucky ones. I get that chance, most people with CF do not. This is way we need to raise as much money as possible towards curing CF. Please, please, please, donate to me, or to anyone, to support this cause. It will greatly improve the quality and duration of ALL of those affected by CF.
Thank you in advance for the donation, you're adding lives with every dollar.
