Hello Team Raiano!
I can't believe another year has gone by! Please join us for the annual CF Walk on Sunday May 21st at Lyndhurst in Tarrytown, as we walk for our special cause. If you remember last year, the day was a VERY HOT, beautiful sunny day, with an epic ending as Frankie proposed to Amanda. Having all of our friends and family there who have supported us through all of these years could not have made this day any more special!
Looking back now, I am overwhelmed with emotion as I watch Chris and Amanda as adults and taking care of themselves to live their best life possible. All of the time that Charlie and I have spent caring for Chris & Amanda to do whatever we could, to keep them in the best health possible has brought us many Blessings. Chris & Kylie with our grandson Gavin! He brings so much sunshine and joy into our lives every day. Chris & Kylie are awesome parents and are busy chasing Gavin around.
Congratulations to Amanda on the completion of her Masters in Nursing. She is truly amazing and continues to make us proud! She is feeling great on Trikafta, while managing her work, gym and now Wedding Planning! We are very excited to be Celebrating Amanda and Frankie this fall.
As I always say, it was not many years ago that the thought of being a grandparent even crossed my mind or wedding planning! Fast-forward 2023, Chris 34, 5 years post-transplant and a Dad. Amanda turning 30, a passionate NURSE making a difference in the world and able to BREATHE EASY! Going to be Married in the FALL. This is because my TWO HEREOS endure and fight with everything have and continue to do so every day.
We are grateful every single day and I thank God, for the miracles we received. We are forever grateful to Chris' donor and family.
Please ask a friend or spread the word about CF and the importance of being a DONOR. The CF Foundation has made so much progress and will not stop until a Cure is Found. The updated median life expectancy for people living with CF is now 56! We have come a long...way!
Hoping to see you on Sunday May 21st.
Forever grateful and blessed,
