Hello Team Raiano!
I hope this finds you all safe and well. It has been a long 2 and half years apart from our friends and family. The last 2 years our Great Strides walk was virtual, but this year WE ARE BACK IN PERSON! Please join us on Sunday, May 22 at Lyndhurst in Tarrytown as we can come together as a Team and see everyone’s beautiful faces, as we walk for our special cause!
2021 brought us a beautiful Blessing our Grandson Gavin! It is such an amazing feeling being Mema and Grandpa, our hearts overflowing with so much love for him and his smile melts us every time. Chris and Kylie are over the moon in love with him and are the most amazing parents. Having a baby during COVID times is a very stressful as we were COVID Central household after Christmas, thank GOD we had a mild form and no complications.
Chris is going on 5 years post-transplant and is doing amazing. He is able to take care of Gavin without any trouble Breathing! Gavin is going to be 8 months old and will soon have Chris and Kylie chasing after him. Who would have ever thought that was possible.
Amanda is having a great year and feeling amazing. She is keeping up with the gym to keep herself strong and sugar levels under control. She is traveling whenever she has the opportunity, especially once things open up more without the restrictions of COVID. She is finishing her masters this year and will be celebrating her 29th Birthday in, June! She worked through the second wave of COVID after having it herself, nothing will keep her down. Nurse’s week is in the beginning of May; Amanda was nominated for the 2022 Excellence in Nursing Award. We will there on May 4th to support her accomplishments. We are so proud of the woman she has become.
It was not many years ago that the thought of being a grandparent even crossed my mind or thought to be a possibility. Fast forward and here, we are today, Chris 33, 5 years post-transplant and a Dad. Amanda 29, a passionate NURSE making a difference in the world and able to BREATHE EASY! This is because my TWO HEREOS endure and fight with everything they have and continue to do so every day.
I feel Blessed and grateful every single day, and thank God, for the miracles we received.
Please ask a friend or spread the word about CF and the importance of being a Donor. We are forever grateful to Chris’ Donor and Family.
Hoping to see you in Person on Sunday May 22nd! Look for our newest and cutest member of Team Raiano, Gavin!
Forever grateful and blessed,
