April 2023
Dear Family and Friends,
As spring arrives and the earth springs forth with new life, I reflect on life itself and what that means. I know how blessed I am with my children and grandchildren. The life that we have together, the life they fill me with and the beauty of life. But we all know life is fragile. Especially for those living with Cystic Fibrosis. The CF Foundation has had so many advances in care through medications and therapies that there are now more adults than children living with CF. We never imagined the median life expectancy would reach 53 years old, but it did! However, many are still losing their battle. Now more than ever we are pursuing the total cure for all with gene therapy. This is our big push because it would not just treat symptoms, it would change the CF cell and change the lives of those living with CF.
This is where we need your help. The CF Foundations Great Strides Walk is on June 4 at Bowdoin Park in Poughkeepsie. Check in is at 10am and walk starts at 11am. We will be there as a family and hope you can join us at this uplifting and fun event. You can register at http://fightcf.cff.org/goto/curciofamily. If you are unable to attend and would like to support our family team, Team Curcio, you could help fundraise, donate online at http://fightcf.cff.org/goto/curciofamily or send a check to our home at 49 Morning Star Dr, New Paltz, NY, 12561. We are so grateful for any donation made as we know it will go straight to research and a cure!
All our children are doing well and are in that adult population we are talking about. Nicole is extremely busy with her 2 boys and running her farm! She is definitely living life to the fullest. Dustin is focused and his career in high end construction/renovations and loving it. He and his wife Krisztina take time to travel together and have visits with her family. Katelyn is a super mom to Jameson, works and helps me out constantly. What wonderful lives they are living. Something we thought would not be possible. The CF Foundation is making this possible because of your continued support and dedication to finding a cure.
We are always humbled by your generosity and support and are eternally grateful for being with us on this journey. We could not do it without you!
With love,
Georgette
