Join our team and help us get one step closer to a cure for cystic fibrosis!
For too long, cystic fibrosis, a rare, genetic disease, has robbed people of tomorrows – progressively limiting their ability to breathe and tragically shortening life. There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with CF. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends, and co-workers who struggle every day in the face of this devasting disease.
We walk for Our J. A 14 year old Super hero! Justin was diagnosed at birth with CF in 2005 after being born with a meconium lieus. Justin had surgery at 2 days old and was in the NICU for 6 weeks. Since his birth he has endured many hospital stays usually 2 or more a year some for respiratory illness, where he has to have IV antibiotics for up to 2 weeks. As well as GI issues that cause sever constipation. Justin takes up to 7 different medications on a daily basis including enzymes that he must have in order to eat. He has breathing treatments and therapy 2-4 times a day for 30 min. Through all of the challenges that having CF has given him, He remains happy and strong. Justin is a Fighter, and my Hero. We have been so blessed that he has been able to start the new Medication TRIKAFTA this year and we are already seeing wonderful results. Everything we do in our fundraising efforts helps so many who live with CF and their families! Families like ours.
