My Great Strides Story
Welcome to my Great Strides page! The Spencer Striders team is walking for its 17th year! As many of you know, Brenda and I formed this team after our daughter, Sophia was born in 2006. She was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis shortly after birth and the Sophia's Striders began walking. In 2008, our son Gianni was born and diagnosed with CF. We changed the team's name to Spencer Striders and have been walking ever since. Sophia and Gianni are doing well thanks to the great care they get at their CF clinic in Jacksonville and the amazing advancements in medicines and therapies developed under the direction of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Every dollar we raise during Great Strides is a step closer to finding a cure for Cystic Fibrosis. Please join me in this fight!
This year we'll be walking in Jacksonville at Hannah Park on May 13th. If you are local, please join my team and walk with us. If you are not local but would still like to support, you now have two options. You can join as a virtual walker and raise funds from anywhere. Or, you can donate you donate to the Spencer Striders.
Real progress has been made for those who have CF, but there is still no cure for this devastating disease and many lives are cut far too short. We’ve come so far, but there’s still so much work to do. I will not stop striding until all those with cystic fibrosis have a cure. We will not leave anyone behind.
Please support me!
We are at a pivotal moment in the history of cystic fibrosis and your support matters. With your help, we can invest our resources in research today, while raising funds for tomorrow, to ensure we have what it takes to reach the finish line. Together, we can make CF stand for Cure Found. Please help me reach my fundraising goal!
