Tiffani was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis when she was ten years old, after a full decade of lung infections, poor growth, sinus and ear infections. Twenty-three years ago her sweat test came back negative and then five years later negative again. It wasn't until her lungs cultured positive for the bacteria pseudomonas aeriginosa that things got really ugly and a full DNA work up showed two rare mutations and a CF diagnosis. If you can imagine this came as a bittersweet discovery. We finally had a reason for all the infections- but this wasn't the answer we wanted.
There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, and friends whoustruggle every day just to breathe. I walk for them. Will you join me and support my fundraising goal?
Real progress has been made for those who have CF, but there is still no cure for this devastating disease and many lives are cut far too short. We’ve come so far, but there’s still so much work to do. I will not stop striding until all those with cystic fibrosis have a cure. Will you join me?
