My Great Strides Story
Granddaughter Sarah is now 14 years old and taller than her mom! She is in 9th grade at the UNI school in Urbana IL. Her newest interests are pipe organ and robotics. We will be walking on May 18th at Riverfront Park Fairground, Glastonbury, at 10:00 to support research for the cystic fibrosis disease. We are happy to report that Sarah has reacted well to Trikafta, one of the newest drugs and is gaining weight well. When she was born, the median age for a CF person was 38. Now it is 53! Research pays off.
Nearly 40,000 people in the United States have cystic fibrosis: a progressive, genetic disease that affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, and friends who face the sobering prospect of a shortened lifespan. We walk for them.
