Cystic Fibrosis? What is Cystic Fibrosis? How can we help? These are the questions we asked ourselves on a ski trip to Colorado two years ago. Our great niece, Marlee, was born with Cystic Fibrosis in July of 2019. Marlee’s diagnosis came while she was in utero so we learned as much as we could in a very short period of time. This very rare, genetic, life shortening disease makes it difficult to breathe. During Stacy’s pregnancy, we found out about the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the support they offer and the ongoing trials and the research they are doing. We decided to get involved. Through donations we can help this amazing foundation. So in Glenwood Springs, Colorado on that ski trip, we thought of different ways to raise money for this foundation. As we discussed ideas with my sister in law and brother in law we started to get excited thinking of ways that we can help. Thus, Melnda and I hosted our first Taste of Tuscany two years ago in February. The first year we raised $3000.00 and the second year we raised $6000.00. My brother in law’s former employer then joined our mission. Ferguson Ent. sponsored the first annual Ferguson-Cystic Fibrosis Golf Tournament and this was a huge success. This along with all our family and friends support we were able to raise $46,000 for Marlee’s Magic and Cystic Fibrosis. Plans are in the making for the second annual golf tournament and we are planning our third Taste of Tuscany. This year we hope to raise $7000.00 in Greensboro, GA. The support we have received from our family, neighbors and friends in Reynolds Lake Oconee is amazing. Thank you for your support. Our family is truly thankful.
Our little angel is growing up and had skis on for the first time in December. As you can see from our pictures, she is loving the Colorado winters. We are in hopes next year we can get Jace and Noah on the same mountain with Marlee and all second cousins.
