Landyn's Lions

(5 year old boy with cystic fibrosis)

I remember being pregnant with Landyn and thinking how excited I was to have my boy, a son! I remember when the doctors placed him on my chest and the joy I felt holding him for the first time; vowing in that moment, that I would fight for him and pretect him from harm. Then after finding out he was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis; my heart sank. I just wanted to take it away, take his place, do anything I could to save my son! I then found out about the Great Strides walk and we have done it every year in hopes they find a cure. I love my son with all my heart and know he will be ok, but want, so desperately, for him to have a normal life without needing to worry about doctor's appointments, gaining weight, taking enzymes, doing treatments, and just being able to be a kid.

If you have ever met Landyn, you know what an amazing and resillant little boy he is! He is fun, sweet, funny, energetic, and a delight to be around! I am so grateful and proud of him! He is my son and I adore him along with his big sister, Sierra. Both of them are my world and I will continue to fight for both of them! That's what parents do.

It hasn't been easy and I know it'll continue to be a challenge, however, I am up for it because it is for my son. He is ALWAYS worth it!

This will be our fifth year doing the Great Strides walk and we are thrilled to be a part of this event! It is on May 14th, 9am registration, 10am start time. We hope you will join us by walking with us that day and please sign up for our team if you can! Anything helps the foundation get closer to finding a cure for this disease. Please let me know if you have any questions or have any ideas to help us reach our goal! Sponsorships are available and every dollar raised goes to the foundation to find a cure! You can also sign up as a virtual walker if you can't make it that day! Also, you can sign your kids up after you register. We hope to see you all there as it is a inspiring event that reminds us al that we are all in this together.

There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends and co-workers who struggle every day just to breathe. I walk for them and hope you will support me in my efforts.

Real progress has been made in the search for a cure, but the lives of people with CF are still cut far too short. There still is no cure for this devastating disease.
