About Our Great Strides Walk

The Rocky Mountain Chapter and the CF Foundation nationally have been deeply impacted by the pandemic and the past two years of fundraising and hosting events. With the uncertainty that persists in our lives and work, decreased staff and resources, and an increase in local and national policies, we need to be both smart and thoughtful in our planning. The end goals remain the same of raising funds to support our mission and working to best serve our CF community.

We are still uncertain as to which events we will be able to hold in-person and if there will be limitations around them. Keeping our community safe and healthy has always been our top priority and will continue to be in 2022.

With all of this in mind, we are planning to consolidate our Great Strides events in 2022. We had seen decreases in fundraising and participation in the years prior to the pandemic and we want to use this year as a time to explore what our community wants and needs most and what the best allocations of staff and resources would be to support those needs. We will host in-person walks in Denver (May 14th) and Colorado Springs (May 21st), knowing that Great Strides will always have a part in the work we do, and we will invite our entire community to attend those in-person or virtually, or participate in Great Strides in whatever capacity makes sense to them. Furthermore, we intend to spend more time and energy connecting with our community and exploring how they want to continue to plug into our collective work and the mission. We feel strongly that these changes will allow our chapter to be more adaptable and effective in our work moving forward in the next year and beyond.
