There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis (CF), including my sweet granddaughters Cora and Frankie. Thanks to the medical advances funded by the CF Foundation, they are doing well. But even with the hours we spend each day to keep them healthy, their lungs will eventually succumb to infection and disease...unless we find a cure.

Great Strides is a national event aimed at raising awareness and support for those with CF and their families. Real progress has been made for those who have CF, but there is still no cure for this devastating disease and many lives are cut far too short. By walking today, I am helping to add tomorrows for those with CF, including my grabddaughters Frankie and Cora, my niece Kaitlyn, and my son-in-law Michael (who has a mild form of the disease).
