Another year has flown by and thanks to your constant support and prayers Elianna and Ian have stayed healthy and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has continued to make amazing strides to a cure! We are anxiously awaiting the FDA's approval for a triple combo medication that will basically correct the root cause of their mutations and will significantly improve their lung while delaying life shortening damage. Seventh grade has been a good year for Elianna. She was the manager for the girls’ volleyball team, ran a short-lived track season and is now trying out for the school soccer team. She has maintained her all A average and is the publicists for Student Council, however her favorite role has been that of Aunt Eli-nana. I know she looks forward to watching Myli, Rys and Jamison grow and because of the CF families before us who created the Foundation Elianna will have the opportunity to be here for them well into adulthood.
Ian has had a busy year as well. He has created a special bond with his school principal and can often be found “talking shop’ with him. He is a great advocate for CF awareness and shares his story and models vest treatments for his classmates. Like any good Atlantan…he has begun golf lessons for his future shot at Augusta. He ran a 5k and loves to swim and play.
Our Great Strides Walk is on Saturday, May 11th in the Harker Heights Community Park beginning at 9:00 a.m. We would love to have you walk with us, make a donation of support or show up to celebrate this year’s successes for Elianna, Ian and the other 30,000 Americans fighting this disease.
Real progress has been made in the search for a cure, but the lives of people with CF are still cut far too short. There still is no cure for this devastating disease. By walking today, I am helping add tomorrows to the lives of people living with cystic fibrosis. Will you join me? Support me by making a donation to my Great Strides fundraising campaign today! Your gift will help add tomorrows to the lives of people with cystic fibrosis by supporting life-saving research and medical progress. Your gift is 100-percent tax deductible.
