Andrea, born in 1953 with cystic fibrosis, defied expectations, becoming one of the disease's oldest survivors at the time before passing away at the age of 47 in 2001. Her advocacy for her health and strong will inspired those around her. Despite medical advice, she welcomed a preterm but healthy child, again defying expectations. Andrea's captivating sense of humor lit up the room, bringing laughter and joy. She was a creative interior designer and talented pastel watercolor artist, a dedicated wife to Jim, who stood by her side through every triumph and challenge, and a loving mother whose legacy of love and fierce determination lives on.
Nearly 40,000 people in the United States have cystic fibrosis: a progressive, genetic disease that affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, and friends who face the sobering prospect of a shortened lifespan. I walk for them and I walk for my mother.
Working alongside the CF community, the CF Foundation has fostered the development of more than a dozen CF treatments and helped add decades of life for people with CF. Yet, many people with CF do not benefit from existing therapies. Our vision is a cure for every person with cystic fibrosis – a life free from the burden of this disease – and we will not leave anyone behind.
You can support the CF Foundation!
By supporting my fundraising goal, you have an opportunity in your lifetime to be part of ending this disease. Please consider joining us and help make medical history.
Thank you,
In loving memory of Andrea Weber.
