2024 Austin Great Strides Walk

Eli’s Army
Eli is 12. He is healthy and active. Going to school, member of the Austin Fencers Club, member of the Circle C swim team, on the bowling team and working toward his Eagle Scout. He still has 2 hours of breathing treatments and takes 30 pills everyday but that is his normal! We credit his health to 50 years of hard work by the CF foundations. Because of the foundation, Eli has been taking a CF modulator since he was 4 years old. This modulator corrects his underlying cellular defect that causes CF, reducing his symptoms of cystic fibrosis.
Adding tomorrows
The CF Foundation is the world's leader in the fight against CF, and their scientific portfolio reflects their drive to provide effective treatments. We continue to make tremendous progress towards these goals. Last year the FDA expanded the approval of three CFTR modulators, including Trikafta and Kalydeco to infants as young as four months. However, we will not rest until everyone has a therapy that addresses the underlying cause of their disease.
With this commitment in mind, the Foundation launched - Path to a Cure, an ambitious research initiative to accelerate treatments for everyone with CF and ultimately deliver a cure. They intend to allocate a half billion dollars to the effort through 2025 and have already seen an 180% increase in funding for this area of research from 2018.
— one day — a cure to every individual with this disease
Please join us May 4th to be a part of the miracle. One day we will all say CF stands for Cure Found.
